Mind(Cittanupassana) Meditation Practice Experiences of Middle-Aged Man: A Narrative Study

Abstract
This study uses narrative study to describe the mind(citt?nupassan?) meditation practice difficulties of a middle-aged man, to explain contextual meanings of his mind meditation practice difficulties, to examine how to solve his difficulties on mind meditation practice through mind meditation practice counselling, and to investigate how to practice mind meditation in his daily life. During his mind meditation practice, the research reporter suffered from dazed headache, repetition of distracted mind between greed and hatred, and suspicions on the objects of mind meditation practice. It was explained that these difficulties on mind meditation practice were due to an obsessive anxiety and contracted mind caused by his father¡®s financial incompetence from childhood, a sense of duty as the eldest son and the eldest grandson of his family, and a contextual factors that lived in conformity with the given environment rather than his own desire. He healed his dazed headache, obsessive anxiety and contracted mind, was able to take proper measure on repetition of distracted mind between greed and hatred, and was resolved suspicions on the objects of mind meditation through mind meditation practice counseling with Sayadaw, He began his day with mind meditation practice in his daily life, and through this mind meditation practice, he became to live a leisurely life by recognizing various selectable information and choosing the appropriate one among them. The significance of this study is as follows. Firstly, it is a study on the vivid experience of mind meditating practice of a middle-aged man under the circumstances of the rarity of study on the mind meditation practice. Second, it is a study that confirmed the effect of healing and changing life through mind meditation practice counseling with Sayadaw. Third, in practice, it can serve as a guide to the future for the healing of mind problems through mind meditation practice counselling.
